Online Wallflower?(Blog Post No.3)

At this time, I really don’t have an online presence. I wonder why? I think most people that have an online presence have it because they are passionate about something, need to reach a larger audience for financial or political gain, or have gained notoriety for all the wrong reasons.

When you are out there, you are out there.

Trying to build an online presence seems like work, especially if you have a very common name. If you are an artist or trying to start a business venture, it is a necessity. Is it a necessity for everyone? Even a lowly teaching person like myself is starting to feel the pull to the Google machine world.

I figure starting slowly for people that don’t really want to be out there is a good idea. Tweet some stuff. Follow some people. Make a subdued sterilized comment that will never get you in trouble if you send it before you get on that flight that doesn’t land for about 12 hours after takeoff. There are a lot of good tips out there for building an online presence.

Go. Be seen!
